Blue Glitter Tip

26 Apr

I hope you all have a great Thursday! Today’s post is one of inspiration. Ever heard of a blog called The Nailasaurus? She does lovely nail work. My friend kept posting her stuff on Pinterest which is how I found her blog. You can check out her site, also where I got the idea for this mani, HERE. :) *if anytime, you “copy” someone else’s work, give credit where credit is due. not that polish or any one desing actually belongs to anyone, not saying that. but I think everyone deserves their props and credit.* closing soap box. lol.

My base color is Ulta’s Blue Streak. I love this color! It’s such a bright and cheerful color. Although my photos came out lighter, this color is pretty blue. The Nailasaurus uses studs and lots of rhinestones for her manis. I’m not a stud gal but I do love me some hexi glitter, or glequins, as they now call them. :) So I used Confetti’s Tazmanian Devil instead. It took me a while, this being my first attempt. So some of the glequins came out crooked. lol. Also, I use a headlight when doing my nails and it was kind of hard to make sure they were straight with all the reflection. Let me know what you think.

Pink Tribal attempt

25 Apr

Happy Wednesday to you! :) I hope you had a great day. My day was productive and I feel joyous and so thankful for so many different things. The verse I read today reminded me to stay focused; to focus on God’s love and remain in His love. So awesome the outcome when you set your heart and your mind on God. <3Today’s post is one I was not happy to post about, at all. It was my first attempt at anything tribal, which is such a big hit in the nail world right now. I have a stamp, plate number BM-221 (bundle monster collection) and it has a somewhat tribal image on it. Since I was going with the Pink Wednesday theme, I used white. I then got the (at the time) brilliant idea to do some fun stuff with black. Let me say that the pink I’m using is a very pretty pink with purple shimmer highlighter. Although, it was given to me as a gift and I have no idea what the brand or name of the color is. But my stamp was with Sinful Color’s Snow Me White and then used my little “skinny” black polish to do me ever so-bright-idea accents.

I did not like the outcome and I’m lacking in the free-hand department. But as with anything, you’ll have hits and you’ll have misses. This, was definitely a miss. lol. I like it from far away, when you’re not really concentrating on perfect lines and neatness. lol. But oh well. I’m going to post because it’s Pink Wednesday and I’m too happy not to. :) Have a great day! Thanks for stopping to see my terrible tribal nail. God Bless! -Sara

Jewelry Heist in blue

24 Apr

Happy Monday to you blog and lacquer addicts! :) Today was a great day! I was super busy at work and the day flew by. Was going to prepare our dinner and my mother-in-law invited us for dinner. I was sure to let her know how happy I was that I didn’t have to cook. lol. So thankful for both of the moms in my life. God is good.

Today’s post was a result of “mani block”. lol. I had no idea what color to choose or what to do with that color. I hate when this happens. I saw the pretty glitter in Spoiled’s “Jewelry Heist” and wanted it. Then saw the springy and sparkly blue of Revlon’s “Blue Lagoon”, which I used just a few manis back. But I went for it. I did two coats of Blue Lagoon and one coat, 2 in some places, of the Jewelry Heist. I like the combo.

The pictures never capture the blue in this color. It always comes out too green or too… something. Doesn’t do it justice. Also, I didn’t notice till I was adding logos to my pictures, there’s some bubbling! Grr. Sorry about that. The Blue Lagoon goes on streaky so took about 3 coats to even it out. So with my glitter coat and my SV, it bubbled. Sorry. Let me know what you think! :) God Bless!

Dotted Rainbow

22 Apr

Happy Sunday to you! :) Today is the day that the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it!

Today’s post is one of joy and gratitude. My heart is so full today! This is my first all dotted mani, ever! I have to say it was a challenge, especially trying to line up my dots. Some of them wound up touching. eek. lol. But overall, for my first try, I really like this one.  I hope you do too.

I started with 2 coats of my Sinful Colors “Snow Me White” and topped it with one coat of SV. I picked up my tool and went to work! I topped it off with one last coat of SV.  I’m adding a photo of all the colors together with my “color wheel” and tool. The names are listed on the bottles’ tops in white. You may have to zoom in. sorry. lol. Yay for rainbow dots! Have a great one! Thanks for stopping by!

Sounds Grape to Me!

22 Apr

Happy Saturday to you all!!! I am back! Woo! It’s been a great week! Sorry it’s been a while since my last post. I started a new job/position this week and I’ve been super busy with my church and the youth group there. God is doing great things! My nails, again, have been rather neglected. I am struggling with weak corners and them chipping. Grr! I dont know WHAT happened, all of a sudden, now my corners break often. :(

But… I recently found this one at Target for $2! ^_^ Clearance!!! Lol! The OPI-Nicole brand usually run about $7-8. woo! I was excited to snag this one! The application is really good! Goes on opaque. I wanted more glitter so I did 2 coats and one coat of SV. It’s a maroon/purple color with glitters that go from gold to bronze, some orange. Such a pretty color! I hope you like it!

All these pictured here (which is a lot since I could not make up my mind) are without flash! Thanks for stopping by! God Bless and have a “grape” weekend! ^_^
