Happy Tuesday Lacquer lovers! 😉 It’s a day for red polish and some sparkle! I decided to try another blogger’s method of taping and see how that goes. We all know I am not a taper but instead of using regular Scotch tape, I opted for my fine nail tape which is harder to work with but in the end is more suitable for my curved nail beds. To see the method, you can click HERE. 🙂
I started with 2 coats of Orly’s “Haute Red”. This color is gorgeous and a perfect Christmas red. It’s also perfectly opaque, but I did 2 coats out of habit and security. lol. I then topped with a coat of SV. I then took some fine nail tape- I have a whole pack of wheels of tape- and taped a “tree” on my ring fingers. Using China Glaze’s “Electrify” (Hunger Games collection) and gently went over the area. I was very careful since this glitter is a bit chunky for such a small detailed image. I then pulled up tape and loved the outcome! Thanks to Nail Side for her great tips! I added small “stars” with gold rhinestones at the tops and added one more coat of Seche Vite. I hope you like it! Happy painting! -Sara
Happy Tuesday to you! The day is gone and I’ve got a few minutes to get last night’s mani in. I do have to say I am loving the blues in this one! I’ve had these in my stash for some time and I’ve just not had the chance to use them. Texas got a big gust of cold weather this weekend. Thank God! It just doesn’t feel like it’ll be Christmas soon if you don’t have the weather. So I thought it the perfect timing for a snowflake mani! Here we go!
I started with 3 coats of China Glaze’s “Blue Sparrow (Neon)”. It’s a very pretty fine glittered blue polish. I forgot to photograph that one by itself. Sorry! But that means I’ll get to show you again some other time, which is great since I like it so much! 😉 I then took my China Glaze’s “Dorothy Who?” and added 1-2 coats of that on each nail. Some nails it went on pretty opaque and others it was sheer and in need of a second. But after that, man! Did it shimmer and sparkle. Here is my combo of the two blue beauts.
Blue Sparrow & Dorothy Who
I then took my Red Angle stamp plate: RA-119 (my only snowflake) and with Sinful Colors’ “Snow Me White”, stamped one big snowflake on my thumbs and more partial snowflakes on my ring fingers. I added small blue rhinestones just to try them. I didn’t like them with the mani but once you got them on, there’s no turning back. lol. Here is my snowflake finale! I hope you like it and I hope it snows where you’re at. Thanks for stopping by for Day 2 of the 12 Days of Christmas mani series here at Lacquer Addictions! -Sara
Happy Wednesday and happy painting! Today’s post is one I did not want to feature. I’ve been wanting to attempt a black tip mani for a while now- amongst all the other “want to try” things. So I finally did it. Let me say, as I’ve always said, I am not a taper! I can never get my tape to lay flat and even- maybe my nails are just anti-tape? So they’re no where near what I wanted or was trying to get. Sorry! But, trial and error, and then I can say “no more”. 🙂
I started with one coat of China Glaze’s “Fast Track” (Hunger Games collection). This polish goes on thick so one coat was all I wanted-otherwise it would have been too… creamy? I topped that with SV. I then stamped my ring fingers with plate BM-225. I love this stamp and my ring fingers are my favorite in this mani. If that makes sense?
I then taped off my tips. I used Sinful Colors “Black on Black” and had a few touch ups to do and then moments when I just wanted to rub it all off. But I stuck with it. From far away it’s not too bad but the up close- that’s when you’re like, “Yeah. She’s not a taper.” LOL! But, either way! Here is my black tip mani!
First, I hope you had a wonderfully blessed Thanksgiving holiday! I know here, our bellies were stuffed and our hearts are full. I’m very thankful for Salvation, for my wonderful husband, our family and many, many more that would take up the whole of this post. But, amongst the great things, I am thankful for the little things like morning kisses and reading as a family, for the cooking together and the laughter that always floats in the air. And! …I am also thankful for polish! 😉
Today’s mani is a first try for me. I’ve been wanting to do a metallic gradient forever! For the colors, I chose China Glaze’s “Harvest Moon” (Hunger Games collection) and Orly’s “Rage”. Both very glitzy-glam colors and both very sparkly. I first sponged Harvest Moon at the top halves of all my nails, followed with Rage at the tips and blended the two in the middle. It was a bit hard to tell if I’d blended them all since there was so much sparkle. 🙂 But I do like the outcome! After clean up, I topped with one coat of SV. I hope you like it! It’d be great for a Christmas mani! Have a blessed week! Thanks for stopping by for this very overdue edition of Lacquer Addictions! -Sara
Happy Monday!!! I’m hoping that your day will go great! Since I often get a case of the Mondays, I thought some glitter might give me some oomph through out the day. 🙂
This is Nicole’s (by OPI) “Me + Blue”. It’s a pretty blue polish with holographic glitter. Eeks! My one and only. lol. I’m more of a budget polish addict. Lol! So when I snagged this one I was excited! I did 2 coats of this blue bute with a coat of SV. I do have to say that the formula is quite lumpy and gritty, which made me sad since it made for sad pictures. But, from at a glance, you can’t tell. Now to us painters, that’s not what matters since everyone likes to pick up your hand and examine them super closely. But, all the same, I am happy to have a holo! Any suggestions on how to make it less gritty? Thanks for stopping by! Happy painting and God Bless! ❤ Sara *all pictures are without flash*
