LONG time no see Laquer addicts!
It has been an amazing journey since my last post. I have a 9 month old little boy who keeps me plenty busy. I was going through my blog, since it’s been a while since I’ve even opened it, and thought I’d share at least one mani I’ve done since then. 🙂 I am painting a little here and there- Mostly when I am going through my sleep roller coasters and cannot sleep. I no longer have a good camera and cannot take micro shots or even good color matching shots. That has also been a reason for not posting or blogging in a while. But… I hope you are doing great and your digits are wonderfully colored. Let’s get this going!
Below is a mani I did for my sister. She had just bought this beautiful Essie in Butler Please at Target and wanted to put it to work right away. This cream polish was a beaut from the shelf and even better once applied to your beds. It was a bit streaky but evened out with a second coat and some SV. I “unsuccessfully” stamped her ring nail with Bundle Monster’s 221 plate and had to free-hand some of them. I was so happy with the outcome and so was she! I then took some gold studs and glued them and topped everything off with Essie’s Matte About You. I do wish I had her skin color. 🙂 It’s so hard to photograph my nails and get the right tones with polish and my skin.
Happy painting to you! Thank you for stopping by! Blessings! ❤ Sara
Happy Tuesday to you! The day is gone and I’ve got a few minutes to get last night’s mani in. I do have to say I am loving the blues in this one! I’ve had these in my stash for some time and I’ve just not had the chance to use them. Texas got a big gust of cold weather this weekend. Thank God! It just doesn’t feel like it’ll be Christmas soon if you don’t have the weather. So I thought it the perfect timing for a snowflake mani! Here we go!
I started with 3 coats of China Glaze’s “Blue Sparrow (Neon)”. It’s a very pretty fine glittered blue polish. I forgot to photograph that one by itself. Sorry! But that means I’ll get to show you again some other time, which is great since I like it so much! 😉 I then took my China Glaze’s “Dorothy Who?” and added 1-2 coats of that on each nail. Some nails it went on pretty opaque and others it was sheer and in need of a second. But after that, man! Did it shimmer and sparkle. Here is my combo of the two blue beauts.
Blue Sparrow & Dorothy Who
I then took my Red Angle stamp plate: RA-119 (my only snowflake) and with Sinful Colors’ “Snow Me White”, stamped one big snowflake on my thumbs and more partial snowflakes on my ring fingers. I added small blue rhinestones just to try them. I didn’t like them with the mani but once you got them on, there’s no turning back. lol. Here is my snowflake finale! I hope you like it and I hope it snows where you’re at. Thanks for stopping by for Day 2 of the 12 Days of Christmas mani series here at Lacquer Addictions! -Sara
Happy Monday!!! I’m hoping that your day will go great! Since I often get a case of the Mondays, I thought some glitter might give me some oomph through out the day. 🙂
This is Nicole’s (by OPI) “Me + Blue”. It’s a pretty blue polish with holographic glitter. Eeks! My one and only. lol. I’m more of a budget polish addict. Lol! So when I snagged this one I was excited! I did 2 coats of this blue bute with a coat of SV. I do have to say that the formula is quite lumpy and gritty, which made me sad since it made for sad pictures. But, from at a glance, you can’t tell. Now to us painters, that’s not what matters since everyone likes to pick up your hand and examine them super closely. But, all the same, I am happy to have a holo! Any suggestions on how to make it less gritty? Thanks for stopping by! Happy painting and God Bless! ❤ Sara *all pictures are without flash*
Happy Tuesday to you, Lacquer lovers and addicts alike! I was feeling blue this weekend. I sported this mani on Monday, just late on posting it. It was so pretty! I even started singing that Blue song to my husband afterwards! 🙂 He laughed at my corny joke and that’s why I love him… well, one of the many reasons. Anywho, back to this blue! I am not big on the name! I though I’d make that clear. lol. It’s always hard for me to talk polish when the bute’s got a silly name. Thankfully no one asked me what color it was!
This is China Glaze’s “Sexy in the City”. It’s a very nice warm blue. Blue’s are naturally cool but this has a warm feeling to it. I hope that makes sense. If not, you’ll see it. I did two coats on all my fingers. I then took Finger Paint’s “Laugh my Art Off”, a nice a super glittery blue polish, and layered that on my ring and pointer fingers. I then topped it all off with SV. I only have one picture. Blues always stain my skin. Meh. Here is the Sexy in the City-Laugh my Art Off mani! Thanks for stopping by to get your fix of Lacquer Addictions! 😉 God Bless you!
welcome back to Lacquer Addictions! 🙂 It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to post! Things finally feel like they’re starting to wind down. We still have a lot going on, the Lord’s work never stops, but it’s nice to take a breather every few days.
Today’s post is a new color. I got my hands on a pretty, duo-toned Nicole polish. In the bottle, it’s a deep blue with gray tones but purple shimmers. One way you see the blues and the other you see the purples. I love it! I did two coats on all of my nails. Again, in some lighting, you see the blue, sometimes it looks black, and others you can faintly see the purples. It was very hard to photograph. I then did one coat of one of Essie’s “luxe effects” polishes- Shine of the Times. I didn’t like the whole thing in flakes so I opted for an accent of the flakes. I went over that and left a small side of the flakes peaking through. I really liked the outcome. I then accented my thumbs with the same flake polish. It feels good to paint and post. I hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by! I definitely missed this. God Bless!
