Happy Tuesday Lacquer lovers! 😉 It’s a day for red polish and some sparkle! I decided to try another blogger’s method of taping and see how that goes. We all know I am not a taper but instead of using regular Scotch tape, I opted for my fine nail tape which is harder to work with but in the end is more suitable for my curved nail beds. To see the method, you can click HERE. 🙂
I started with 2 coats of Orly’s “Haute Red”. This color is gorgeous and a perfect Christmas red. It’s also perfectly opaque, but I did 2 coats out of habit and security. lol. I then topped with a coat of SV. I then took some fine nail tape- I have a whole pack of wheels of tape- and taped a “tree” on my ring fingers. Using China Glaze’s “Electrify” (Hunger Games collection) and gently went over the area. I was very careful since this glitter is a bit chunky for such a small detailed image. I then pulled up tape and loved the outcome! Thanks to Nail Side for her great tips! I added small “stars” with gold rhinestones at the tops and added one more coat of Seche Vite. I hope you like it! Happy painting! -Sara
Happy Wednesday and happy painting! Today’s post is one I did not want to feature. I’ve been wanting to attempt a black tip mani for a while now- amongst all the other “want to try” things. So I finally did it. Let me say, as I’ve always said, I am not a taper! I can never get my tape to lay flat and even- maybe my nails are just anti-tape? So they’re no where near what I wanted or was trying to get. Sorry! But, trial and error, and then I can say “no more”. 🙂
I started with one coat of China Glaze’s “Fast Track” (Hunger Games collection). This polish goes on thick so one coat was all I wanted-otherwise it would have been too… creamy? I topped that with SV. I then stamped my ring fingers with plate BM-225. I love this stamp and my ring fingers are my favorite in this mani. If that makes sense?
I then taped off my tips. I used Sinful Colors “Black on Black” and had a few touch ups to do and then moments when I just wanted to rub it all off. But I stuck with it. From far away it’s not too bad but the up close- that’s when you’re like, “Yeah. She’s not a taper.” LOL! But, either way! Here is my black tip mani!
First, I hope you had a wonderfully blessed Thanksgiving holiday! I know here, our bellies were stuffed and our hearts are full. I’m very thankful for Salvation, for my wonderful husband, our family and many, many more that would take up the whole of this post. But, amongst the great things, I am thankful for the little things like morning kisses and reading as a family, for the cooking together and the laughter that always floats in the air. And! …I am also thankful for polish! 😉
Today’s mani is a first try for me. I’ve been wanting to do a metallic gradient forever! For the colors, I chose China Glaze’s “Harvest Moon” (Hunger Games collection) and Orly’s “Rage”. Both very glitzy-glam colors and both very sparkly. I first sponged Harvest Moon at the top halves of all my nails, followed with Rage at the tips and blended the two in the middle. It was a bit hard to tell if I’d blended them all since there was so much sparkle. 🙂 But I do like the outcome! After clean up, I topped with one coat of SV. I hope you like it! It’d be great for a Christmas mani! Have a blessed week! Thanks for stopping by for this very overdue edition of Lacquer Addictions! -Sara
Happy Friday world! I have an interview today! 🙂 Please pray for me. I’m excited. I wanted to stay away from tips-very cliche’. So I opted for a clean calm color.
This is 2 coats of China Glaze’s “Fast Track” (of the Hunger Games Collection) and one coat of Essie’s “Matte About You”. I really like the outcome. The matte really makes the glitter go “pop!” These pictures are without flash. Have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by and God Bless you! -Sara
Happy weekend! Can you believe it’s already April!? Time flies so fast. But, I’m thankful. Celebrated my youngest sister’s birthday, she turned 3! 🙂 my parents are very young. hee hee. And my other sister is visting us here at home for 2 weeks. I’m so thankful. Amazing how God brings exactly what we need, exactly when we need it! God is good!
Ok. So, I took a break from the HG collection for a while. After the movie, I have to admit I was a bit bummed. lol. Everyone looks at me crazy, but I was greatly disappointed. Blah. Moving on. lol. But I also wanted to wait and give my short nails some time to grow a few mm. I’m starting to feel closer to my regular lenght. But it’ll take time.
Today’s post is an awesome color! As you all know, nudes are very “in” this year, have been since maybe last fall? Not sure exact time period, BUT, i love the nudes. I was so happy when I first saw this color in the HG collection. It’s so soft and so chic. A very nice shade of “nude” with some fine gold glitter to enchance it and give that much more oomph. I hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by. God Bless!
