Happy Tuesday Lacquer lovers! 😉 It’s a day for red polish and some sparkle! I decided to try another blogger’s method of taping and see how that goes. We all know I am not a taper but instead of using regular Scotch tape, I opted for my fine nail tape which is harder to work with but in the end is more suitable for my curved nail beds. To see the method, you can click HERE. 🙂
I started with 2 coats of Orly’s “Haute Red”. This color is gorgeous and a perfect Christmas red. It’s also perfectly opaque, but I did 2 coats out of habit and security. lol. I then topped with a coat of SV. I then took some fine nail tape- I have a whole pack of wheels of tape- and taped a “tree” on my ring fingers. Using China Glaze’s “Electrify” (Hunger Games collection) and gently went over the area. I was very careful since this glitter is a bit chunky for such a small detailed image. I then pulled up tape and loved the outcome! Thanks to Nail Side for her great tips! I added small “stars” with gold rhinestones at the tops and added one more coat of Seche Vite. I hope you like it! Happy painting! -Sara
Happy Friday to you! In my last post I said it’s never too late to do the good ol’ red , white and blue! Well, today my rhinestones came in! yay! Here is the picture of them. 🙂
And I really wanted to use them. So i got just a little too creative and then put myself in a rut. See what came of my rut! I did all but my ring fingers based in Orly’s “Haute Red” which in my opinion is a hot as red polish can get! It’s the perfect shade. It’s a great one coater but I did two to be safe. I then did my ring fingers in Sinful Colors’ “Snow Me White” and topped them all of wtih SV.
I then used reinforcement label to do a half moon on my ring fingers with “Blue Sparrow” by China Glaze. That was a first for me. And let me say it was harder than they made it sound! My moon was quite edgy. lol. But then again, my skinny fingers don’t like to allow tape and stuff to properly adhere to them so… Yeah! I had to touch up. I then added 3 red rhinestones to each and freehanded some accents in red. 🙂 Here’ s the outcome!

Here is the final color for Funky Nails’ “Every Woman” collection! And I saved it for last. Why? Because it was my absolute favorite! 🙂 I have a feeling this one will be the most desired of the whole collection. But that’s just my personal opinion. hee hee. I am SO excited to have done this for her! Thank you to Minnie over at Funky Nails for allowing me to swatch her first collection! You can visit her site and blog by clicking here!
Here is the fifth and final color of Funky Nails “EVERY WOMAN” collection. This beautiful red polish is called Vibrant, and justly so! “Vibrant is a classic red with holo glitter.”

HI!!!!!!!!!! I am back!!! 😀 thank you for your patience. I’ve been crazy busy and uploading all the pictures again takes some time to do.
I’ve still been painting my nails, just not as much due to the craziness of our schedule lately. We’ve also been getting ready for my little sister’s high school graduation. 🙂
This mani is awesome! l Not boasting in skills, but the color! I love this color combo! It reminded me of Iron Man. lol. The base is Sally Hansen’s “Golden-I” and I stamped using BM-210, with Orly’s “Naughty” which on the gold showed up much lighter than bottle or regular application. I hope you like them!
Happy Monday to you all! I hope today goes well for you. Monday’s tend to drag for me. I asked someone to pick a color, which has become a really fun technique. 🙂 She said red! So… I then thought about how many things I have not done with techniques or designs… the list goes on. I have a lot to learn and try out. One of those things being the GRADIENT! lol. I was very intimidated by this lovely technique. But, thankfully, it was SO simple and it came out great! I’m very happy with the outcome. I hope you agree. lol.
I pretty much just grabbed a makeup sponge, I have a lot, and using scissors, cut the bottom in two small pieces (in case I needed a back up sponge… you never know. lol.) and that was it. They were tiny. I will post the picture of my sponge. 🙂 I just did my base coat. Then I jumped straight into the sponging. I did the Red Zin first. It’s by Sally Hansen, the Complete Salon Manicure collection. Love this Red. It’s more of a marroon but pretty, nonetheless. So I base-sponged all my nails in Red Zin. I did two coats. I then sponged the Naughty, by Orly, over that, beginning at the free edge. I had to switch back and forth between colors to get my desired look. I was scared about the textuer. But then I did a coat of my SV and it was completely smooth!
But play with it until you’re happy. 🙂
