Butler Please

LONG time no see Laquer addicts!

It has been an amazing journey since my last post. I have a 9 month old little boy who keeps me plenty busy. I was going through my blog, since it’s been a while since I’ve even opened it, and thought I’d share at least one mani I’ve done since then. πŸ™‚ I am painting a little here and there- Mostly when I am going through my sleep roller coasters and cannot sleep. I no longer have a good camera and cannot take micro shots or even good color matching shots. That has also been a reason for not posting or blogging in a while. But… I hope you are doing great and your digits are wonderfully colored. Let’s get this going!

Below is a mani I did for my sister. She had just bought this beautiful Essie in Butler Please at Target and wanted to put it to work right away. This cream polish was a beaut from the shelf and even better once applied to your beds. It was a bit streaky but evened out with a second coat and some SV. I “unsuccessfully” stamped her ring nail with Bundle Monster’s 221 plate and had to free-hand some of them. I was so happy with the outcome and so was she! I then took some gold studs and glued them and topped everything off with Essie’s Matte About You. Β I do wish I had her skin color. πŸ™‚ It’s so hard to photograph my nails and get the right tones with polish and my skin.

Happy painting to you! Thank you for stopping by! Blessings! ❀ Sara

LATE!

4 Feb

Well, hello there! I hope you are doing greeatttt! I am overdue for an update, so I think it’s time to explain why it’s been almost 2 months since I’ve posted… or even painted.

On Thanksgiving Day 2012, we announced to our family that we were (then) 8 weeks pregnant! We are about to hit our 19th week and my energy levels have just had a small boost. I still haven’t painted, at all, since the last time I posted. I’ve been wanting to but just don’t have the energy or the patience. But, we are very excited and we’re doing great! Who knows? Maybe I’ll get a mani or two in, here and there? πŸ™‚

So… with that being said, I wish you many sessions of happy painting!
Blessings- Sara

Christmas Tree oh Christmas Tree- Day 4

18 Dec

Happy Tuesday Lacquer lovers! πŸ˜‰ It’s a day for red polish and some sparkle! I decided to try another blogger’s method of taping and see how that goes. We all know I am not a taper but instead of using regular Scotch tape, I opted for my fine nail tape which is harder to work with but in the end is more suitable for my curved nail beds. To see the method, you can click HERE. πŸ™‚

I started with 2 coats of Orly’s “Haute Red”. This color is gorgeous and a perfect Christmas red. It’s also perfectly opaque, but I did 2 coats out of habit and security. lol. I then topped with a coat of SV. I then took some fine nail tape- I have a whole pack of wheels of tape- and taped a “tree” on my ring fingers. Using China Glaze’s “Electrify” (Hunger Games collection) and gently went over the area. I was very careful since this glitter is a bit chunky for such a small detailed image. I then pulled up tape and loved the outcome! Thanks to Nail Side for her great tips! I added small “stars” with gold rhinestones at the tops and added one more coat of Seche Vite. I hope you like it! Happy painting! -Sara

Gingerbread Cookie- Day 3

18 Dec

Happy Monday to you! I hope this week before Christmas is off to a good start. I know I am tired and pooped… which is the reason why Day 3 of the 12 Days of Christmas series is 3 days late! lol. Sorry! But I really did enjoy wearing this one. Here it goes:

I started with 3 coats of my new franken. I made this a few minutes before starting on my mani. I really liked the outcome. Anywho, 3 coats of this and SV. I then used plate BM-222 and stamped with China Glaze’s “Mahogony Magic” (Hunger Games collection). I stamped both ring fingers and thumbs and topped with another coat of Seche Vite! It was fun while it lasted. πŸ™‚

Let it Snow- Day 2

11 Dec

Happy Tuesday to you! The day is gone and I’ve got a few minutes to get last night’s mani in. I do have to say I am loving the blues in this one! I’ve had these in my stash for some time and I’ve just not had the chance to use them. Texas got a big gust of cold weather this weekend. Thank God!Β It just doesn’t feel like it’ll be Christmas soon if you don’t have the weather. So I thought it the perfect timing for a snowflake mani! Here we go!

I started with 3 coats of China Glaze’s “Blue Sparrow (Neon)”. It’s a very pretty fine glittered blue polish. I forgot to photograph that one by itself. Sorry! But that means I’ll get to show you again some other time, which is great since I like it so much! πŸ˜‰ I then took my China Glaze’s “Dorothy Who?” and added 1-2 coats of that on each nail. Some nails it went on pretty opaque and others it was sheer and in need of a second. But after that, man! Did it shimmer and sparkle. Here is my combo of the two blue beauts.

I then took my Red Angle stamp plate: RA-119 (my only snowflake) and with Sinful Colors’ “Snow Me White”, stamped one big snowflake on my thumbs and more partial snowflakes on my ring fingers. I added small blue rhinestones just to try them. I didn’t like them with the mani but once you got them on, there’s no turning back. lol. Here is my snowflake finale! I hope you like it and I hope it snows where you’re at. Thanks for stopping by for Day 2 of the 12 Days of Christmas mani series here at Lacquer Addictions! -Sara
