Let it Snow- Day 2

11 Dec

Happy Tuesday to you! The day is gone and I’ve got a few minutes to get last night’s mani in. I do have to say I am loving the blues in this one! I’ve had these in my stash for some time and I’ve just not had the chance to use them. Texas got a big gust of cold weather this weekend. Thank God! It just doesn’t feel like it’ll be Christmas soon if you don’t have the weather. So I thought it the perfect timing for a snowflake mani! Here we go!

I started with 3 coats of China Glaze’s “Blue Sparrow (Neon)”. It’s a very pretty fine glittered blue polish. I forgot to photograph that one by itself. Sorry! But that means I’ll get to show you again some other time, which is great since I like it so much! 😉 I then took my China Glaze’s “Dorothy Who?” and added 1-2 coats of that on each nail. Some nails it went on pretty opaque and others it was sheer and in need of a second. But after that, man! Did it shimmer and sparkle. Here is my combo of the two blue beauts.

I then took my Red Angle stamp plate: RA-119 (my only snowflake) and with Sinful Colors’ “Snow Me White”, stamped one big snowflake on my thumbs and more partial snowflakes on my ring fingers. I added small blue rhinestones just to try them. I didn’t like them with the mani but once you got them on, there’s no turning back. lol. Here is my snowflake finale! I hope you like it and I hope it snows where you’re at. Thanks for stopping by for Day 2 of the 12 Days of Christmas mani series here at Lacquer Addictions! -Sara

Naked

10 Aug

Happy Friday to you! This has been one crazy week. It’s been busy but I’d rather it be busy and fly than slow and drag.  So… I missed Pink Wednesday this week. Grr. I’ve really been itching to do a pink mani lately. I really loved the Denim to Earth this week but I just didn’t have time to do anything. Only reason I am now is because I napped this afternoon, into the evening since my husband didn’t wake me up. I felt good but then I was like, “NO!”. And then I was like, “Yay! I can paint!”. So, here I am. 🙂

Digging the name of this polish? Lol! This is China Glaze’s “Naked”. Boy, do i LOVE this color! I was going to go for a super popping pink. But I saw this one, and realized it’s too pretty not to have used it yet, and opted for this lovely soft, feminine color. I did two coats and topped off with SV. The application was smooth and easy. It’s shimmery with fine glitter. I then used my Red Angel plate RA-109. As I said, I feel this a very girly color so I opted for a single floral image-Sinful Color’s Snow Me White- on my ring fingers and added some “bling” to the middles. Love it! And, I feel it’s work appropriate. So if you’re looking for “work” manis, give this bottle a go. I hope you like it and you feel pretty in your pink! All these photos are without flash. Thanks for stopping by. God Bless!

Essie’s Over the Edge

7 May

Hello all! 🙂 I hope you are having a great day so far! Today’s post is a short one. I really liked how this one turned out.

My base color is of course, Essie’s Over the Edge. It’s a very pretty shimmery coal color. Love it! Did 2 coats and topped it with one coat of SV. I then chose my Red Angel plate RA-102. I stamped with Sinful Colors’ Snow Me White. I did some accenting with one of my “skinny” design polishes. This came in a 3-pack of a black, white, and glitter sliver. You can get these at walmart, target… pretty much any drug store. I really like them.

As always, thanks for stopping by! God Bless! 🙂

Ombre with stamp

13 Apr

Today’s second post is of my mani which I did after my sister’s mani… which was when I got home. Hubby said good night. He’s still not feeling well. 😦 But all in all, we had a great day and a great evening. ❤

My mani was inspired by my husband. After doing my sister’s nails I could not think of anything I wanted to do. So I asked my huband the question “Color?” I love that he helps me. He said, “Blue and black. But, baby blue and black.” I love him! 🙂 So this got my wheels going. I was just going to paint them baby blue and stamp with black. But that’s so simple. lol. I’m feeling daring. So I thought that the baby blue and black would make an awesome gradient or “ombre” mani! HA! I had no idea. It was hard to get them to blend just “so”. Took me a while. I’m not happy with the left hand results but then I did my right hand and liked it much better!

I did 2 coats of sponging with Revlon’s Blue Lagoon. I then did some sponging with Sinful Colors’ Black on Black. I went back and blended some more of the blue and again with black. Takes a few times to get it right. Then topped it off with SV. I used my Red Angel stamp RA-102. I was only going to do my ring fingers but ended up really liking it and stamped them all. 🙂 I hope you like it! Sponging is fun once you get the hang of it. Thanks for stopping by! God Bless!!!

I Only Eat Salads

26 Feb

First review for my recent purchases. 🙂 *Picture heavy* I’ve been wanting a yellow-green for the longest. My eyes would always dart to the new Revlon polishes with gold bands on the bottle. But today CVS provided one for me with their new brand (by wet’n’wild) Spoiled. Yay!

My base coat is a cream polish. I did 2 coats of this and topped it with one coat of SV. The only thing I don’t like so far is the brush shape. It’s rounded, which is great! But it’s far too big. So if your nails are small or narrow, mine are narrow, this is kind of annoying since you’ll have a lot of clean up. Also, since the brush is so large, it’s also “bristle heavy” and on the first coat, can be streaky. Once the second coat was on, it was fine. Anywho, here is the color; solo. 🙂

I also wanted to stamp tonight. I pulled out the Red Angel stamps and chose plate RA-105. I used Sinful Colors’ “Show Me the Way”. It has a subtle shimmer to it. I liked the outcome, even if it’s a little loud. 🙂
